Fidelity Securities Limited (FSL) was incorporated in Ghana on 28th September 2004, originally under the name Fidelity Asset Management Limited, as the asset management subsidiary of the Fidelity Group (Ghana). Over the years, we have grown to become a leading investment management and financial advisory firm, dedicated to providing innovative, customized solutions to institutional and individual investors. With more than 20 years of experience, we have earned a reputation for excellence, integrity, and transparency in the financial services industry.

Yaw Nsafoa Sarpong

Yaw is the Board Chairman of FIDELITY SECURITIES LTD, bringing over 30 years of experience in investment banking. He holds a degree in Law & Sociology from Keele University (United Kingdom) and began his career at the Australian and New Zealand Bank in London.

Upon returning to Ghana, he joined Merchant Bank Ghana Limited (now UMB Bank), where he rose to the position of Head of Investment Banking. During his tenure, he played a key role in the privatization of Ashanti Goldfields and the Social Security Bank (SSB). He was also instrumental in the merger of British American Tobacco and Meridian Tobacco (Rothmans) and in Société Générale’s acquisition of SSB Ltd.

Over the years, Yaw has attended several executive programs at the New York Institute of Finance (USA), specializing in U.S. capital markets, investment banking, and securities analysis.

Beyond his professional career, he serves as a Trustee of the Adebi Sarpong Foundation and is actively involved in charity work and rural development.

Edward founded Fidelity Group in October 1998 after a successful career as a senior finance executive. Fidelity Group comprises Fidelity Bank Limited, Fidelity Capital Partners Limited, Fidelity Asset Management Limited, Fidelity Equity Fund 1 Limited, and Fidelity Equity Fund 2 Limited.

Fidelity Bank holds assets exceeding $250 million and was named Ghana’s fastest-growing bank in 2007 by Corporate Initiative Ghana. Under Edward’s leadership, Fidelity has built a strong reputation and achieved significant growth in profitability and assets under management.

Edward brings over 15 years of experience in senior finance and treasury management roles. His previous positions include:

  • Director, Global Emerging Markets (GEM) Ghana Limited (1995–1998)
  • Chief Finance Officer, Inter-Afrique Group (1994–1997)
  • Risk Manager, Rudolf Wolff, London (1990–1994)
  • Auditor and Management Consultant, Coopers & Lybrand, London (1987–1990)

A Chartered Accountant, Edward is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He currently serves as Board Member for Fidelity Securities Ltd and is a Council Member of the University of Ghana.

His past directorships include:

  • Takoradi International Company Limited (2002–2009)
  • Africa Venture Capital Association (2000–2005)
  • Ghana Stock Exchange Council (2006–2007)
  • Golden Beach Hotels Limited (2001–2004)
  • Ghana Agro Food Complex (2005–2006)

In March 2001, Edward was recognized as one of Ghana’s top 20 young leaders for the inaugural class of the Africa Leadership Initiative, modeled after the Aspen Institute’s Henry Crown Fellowship Program.

Akwasi Adu Boahene is an accomplished Investment and Finance Professional with over 18 years of experience in the Investment Banking Sector. As the Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Securities Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited, Akwasi is at the forefront of driving the strategic vision and growth of the Business. With a deep and diverse background in portfolio management, financial advisory, and investment banking, Akwasi has played an integral role in shaping the success of Fidelity Securities. His extensive exposure spans key areas including the management of equity and fixed income portfolio, investment research, and the development of robust investment methodologies. Prior to his current role, he was the Head of Investment Management at the firm, where he oversaw the optimization of investment strategies and the execution of high-level financial decisions. Akwasi’s expertise also extends to operations, where he was responsible for streamlining processes, ensuring the timely and efficient execution of client orders, account reconciliations, and maintaining strict compliance with client mandates. His deep understanding of financial markets and client needs has also seen him lead the product development team in designing tailored products and funds that cater to both individual and institutional clients. Akwasi holds an Mbai Finance, an MSc in Finance and Investment, and a BSc in Mining Engineering. He is a Global Chartered Management Accountant and a Fellow of CIMA, demonstrating his commitment to excellence and professional development

Atta Yeboah Gyan

Atta Yeboah Gyan serves on the FIDELITY SECURITIES LTD board as a non-executive member. With over 19 years of experience, he has expertise in financial and corporate strategy, risk management, financial analysis, budgeting, mergers and acquisitions, banking operations, audit, and control.

He joined Fidelity Bank in 2007, holding senior roles in Audit and Finance before becoming Finance Director in 2016 and Chief Financial Officer in 2019. Before that, he worked at SG-SSB Ltd (now Société Generale Ghana) as an Inspector, playing a key role in the bank’s transition to foreign ownership. He also served as Finance Manager for Joy FM at Multimedia Group Ltd, where he established the finance function and oversaw budgeting and client services.

Atta is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) and a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), USA. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. He holds a master’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon, along with a post-chartered diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Joe Afful has over two decades of experience in fund management, corporate finance, wealth management, and business advisory. He currently serves as the Head of Institutional Business at Fidelity Securities Limited, where he leads institutional fund management strategies and provides tailored investment solutions for institutional and high-net-worth clients.

As a Certified Independent Pension Fund Trustee, Joe specializes in managing pension funds, provident funds, endowment funds, and bespoke wealth management solutions. He is a pioneer in pension fund management in Ghana, under the implementation of the Three-Tier Pension Scheme of Ghana under the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA). Under his leadership, he successfully grew Fidelity Securities Limited’s institutional business, positioning it as a dominant player in the industry.

Joe holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester, England, and a first degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ghana (2001). His career has been driven by a passion for thought leadership, high-level financial services, and empowering businesses at every stage of their growth.

He leverages his deep expertise in both local and international financial markets and investment products to optimize asset allocation and deliver risk-adjusted returns. Beyond investment management, Joe is deeply committed to leadership and mentorship, having developed and led high-performing teams that drive growth and innovation in institutional fund management.

His influence extends beyond Fidelity Securities, as he actively contributes to industry dialogues, advocates for pension reforms, and shapes investment strategies in Ghana and beyond. He also has a strong track record in financial coaching, training, and facilitation, having conducted numerous retirement planning and financial well-being seminars for diverse organizations and workgroups.

Joe is passionate about promoting financial independence, equipping individuals and businesses with the knowledge and tools to build sustainable wealth. His mission is not only to grow wealth but to shape the future of investment management through thought leadership, innovation, and strategic financial solutions.

Mimi is a seasoned financial advisor, business development strategist, and advocate for financial literacy, with over a decade of experience in the finance industry. She has dedicated her career to driving the growth of retail financial services, equipping individuals with the tools for financial independence, and developing innovative solutions for sustainable wealth management.

As the Business Development Manager at Fidelity Securities Limited, Mimi oversees the growth and expansion of the retail business, including collective investment schemes and the wealth management unit. She leads initiatives in sales, relationship management, product development, and customer service. Her role also involves organizing AGMs, enhancing marketing and visibility efforts, and providing strategic direction to achieve the company’s objectives.

Previously, Mimi was the Team Lead for the Education and Advisory Department at a leading corporate trustee. In addition, she held key roles as a Pensions Advisor and Branch Manager, overseeing sales operations across the Greater Accra, Volta, and Eastern Regions.

Mimi holds an MBA from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance. She is a Certified Financial Education Instructor and has a certificate in Financial Planning and Wealth Management from the Corporate Finance Institute. She also holds the GISI certificate.

Papa Sam Blankson leads the investment strategy, research, and portfolio management team at Fidelity Securities Limited - the asset management subsidiary of Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited. With over a decade’s experience within the financial services sector, he has strong competence in Wealth Management, Investment Portfolio Management, and Macro-economic Analyses and Insight.

Before joining FSL in 2017, Papa Sam worked in various capacities in relationship management and business development across various bank branches under the retail banking division of Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited and ProCredit S&L. Papa Sam is a graduate of the German Consulting Firm, IPC GmbH's Young Bankers' Program, where he was trained in ethical and sustainable banking. He holds an MSc. in Economics and a BSc. Chemistry degree both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

A strategic thinker and trusted advisor, Nii Ayertey is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including tax planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. With an extensive background in financial risk management, fund accounting, and portfolio optimization, he ensures the company’s financial health while aligning with long-term corporate objectives.

Nii Ayertey has held various roles in Portfolio Management, Fund Administration, Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting amongst others in his time with Fidelity Securities Limited. He is known for implementing efficient financial systems, driving profitability, and offering actionable insights that enhance decision-making processes at the executive level.

Nii Ayertey is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG). He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Coventry University and a Bachelor of Science in Administration (BSc. Admin) in Accounting from the University of Ghana Business School. He is also licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an Investment Representative.

Additionally, she trains team members on compliance updates to ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements.

With a strong background in Banking, E-Business, and Digital Operations—alongside expertise in credit risk and relationship management at Fidelity Bank and ProCredit SLC Ltd—Sally has extensive experience in fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.

She is a Certified Data Protection Supervisor, a Certified Digital Finance Practitioner, and a Chartered Accountant, holding a Ghana Securities Industry Certificate. She earned her BSc in Business Administration from the University of Professional Studies, Accra.

Sally’s expertise spans regulatory compliance frameworks, process optimization, policy development, and stakeholder relationship management. She plays a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and driving operational excellence.
